Pense em alguma coisa que deixa você inseguro e escreva o que é em letras enormes. Use o espaço todo! Olhe bem para o que você escreveu. Agora vire a página. (via UMA PAGINA DE CADA VEZ | Livraria Cultura)
1 Page at a Time is actually coming out in Brazil first!!
It’s being released by Paralela (Companhia Das Letras) and I’m very excited about it, and them. There’s gonna be some good surprises at the São Paulo International Book Biennial at the end of next month.
This book is everything I’ve been doing and saying, internet humor and self-care and stupidity and unknown spaces and “things are what you make of them” and everything that matters to me. It feels crazy that I even made a book but I am so grateful for all of your support and this opportunity it’s lead to.
There’s plenty more to come, sneak peeks, giveaways, launch events, other editions, and plenty more gifs. The countdown has officially begun!
I know it seems early, but pre-orders matter for first week sales. It’s “a big deal.” So if you know you’re going to want a copy, or you know people who would love this, you can pre-order now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, IndieBound, Penguin Books, Powell’s Books, or anywhere else.
I’ve got an “artist collection” of phone cases that just launched with casetify! It include some popular designs & some new ones, including backwards prints for mirror selfies.
We’re also giving away a prize package through my email list soon. If you’re not a member already, that’s where I give stuff away and send you nice messages. “Highly recommended.”
1 Page at a Time: A Daily Creative Companion, is 365 pages of activities and prompts to help you make it through the year. It’s full of the stupid, occasionally dark humor that you’re used to seeing from me, plus a lot of small, personal surprises.
While I was working on the book last year, my grandmother, who had been battling Lou Gehrig’s disease, passed away. Blanche was always laughing a little too loudly, taking photos of everything, teaching and traveling. She loved small treats and gift shops and cards, and saving scraps and notes for future storytelling. She made friends everywhere she went. I attribute a lot of my personal values to her.
It means so much to me to be able to take everything I value, saving and making and appreciating the small stuff, dumb jokes and friendships and maybe a nap, and put it in one place. Things really just are what you make of them!

My sheet from Lisa Currie’s exhibition! Didn’t realize how serious these were gonna get, I might have tried just a liiiiitle bit harder. Still, this is as personal as it gets. She posted them all, check it out.

365 page journal of jokes, creative prompts, internet and inspiration. So it could be a calendar, a sketchbook, or whatever you make of it. Write in dates, add page numbers, soak it in tears, whatever. It’s available for pre-order from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s, and many other bookstores.
I’m giving away a copy early, but the catch is that I’m giving it out literally just one page at a time. Get a page!
