Barbara Kruger’s never really talked about Supreme, the skate company who’s been ripping off her ideas and prints letter for letter, color for color, for their red-and-white logo, which you have seen, because it is everywhere. 

I emailed her casually to ask her about this. And today, she got back to me, and gave a candid statement on the matter of Supreme for the first time, ever, really. By emailing me a blank email, with an attachment. Which you can see above.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for Barbara Kruger to be asked about Supreme, but actually, why not, I am sure she does not normally concern herself with the aesthetics of snapback hats.

This is my fourth year of New Years cards, which is something I’ve come to love and look forward to. This year I put it back to bed (like 2010), reflecting in the glow of my computer screen. It comes with a suggestion to start your resolutions list (like 2011), a reminder that while 13 may be inherently unlucky, we really control our own futures anyway.

I’ve been sending cards out with orders this month, but I’d also like to send some cards to “new friends” and “strangers.” If you’d like one, please visit this page to submit your address and I’ll send them out to the first 50 or so people.

I was so excited to work with the Hype Machine for their annual year-end Zeitgeist, and even more excited to do a treatment for Lower Dens, who produced my absolute favorite record this year.

I listened to the NPR stream a dozen times before it was released and pre-ordered the record immediately. I was at the record release show in Baltimore. I have played it for countless friends, on repeat stoned in the summer heat, late nights, even as recently as this past weekend with a mug of tea. Nootropics is a perfect record.
